Flood Damage Reduction
8th Street Improvements
This project started in the fall of 2015 and was completed in the fall of 2016. The work consisted of stabilizing the river bank of Beaver Creek along 8th street in Bristol, TN. Excavation to grade on the bank was performed using our Komatsu PC200 & PC360 excavators, along with laying the ACB (Articulated Concrete Block) mats on the slope to protect it from erosion. In addition, demolition of the existing 8th street bridge and installation of a new steel pedestrian bridge were also performed.
Below is a link of the new pedestrian bridge installation, written by the local Bristol newspaper.
